This Privacy Policy explains how TerazRozumiem ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our service at terazrozumiem.com. We are committed to keeping your data safe and being transparent about how we use it.
1. Who We Are
TerazRozumiem is an interactive Polish grammar learning platform. You can contact us at hello@terazrozumiem.com with any questions about this policy or your data.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo, provided via Google Sign-In when you create an account.
- Learning progress — your exercise answers, lesson completions, scores, and streak data, stored to power spaced-repetition and progress tracking.
- Usage events — anonymised analytics events (e.g. lesson started, exercise completed, checkout clicked) used to improve the product. No personal content is stored in these events.
- Payment data — billing details are handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or payment credentials on our servers.
- Technical data — browser type, device type, and IP address (collected automatically by Firebase Hosting and Google Analytics).
3. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and manage your account
- To save and sync your learning progress across devices
- To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe
- To understand how the product is used and improve it
- To send you important service emails (e.g. trial expiry, payment confirmations) — no marketing emails without consent
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process your data on the following legal grounds:
- Contract performance — to provide the service you signed up for
- Legitimate interests — to improve the product and prevent fraud
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws (e.g. invoicing, tax)
5. Third Parties We Use
We share data only with the services required to run the platform:

We do not sell your data to any third party.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax purposes (e.g. billing records, up to 5 years under Polish law).
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication (Firebase session cookies) and analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4. You can disable analytics cookies through your browser settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your account and personal data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Restriction — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances

9. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Firebase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Access to your data is restricted to your account via Firebase security rules. Only the service administrator can access aggregated analytics.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in data centres operated by Google (EU region) and Stripe (EU and US). Both providers use standard contractual clauses and are certified under applicable data protection frameworks.
11. Children's Privacy
TerazRozumiem is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
